The MiraCosta CLC Student Services building is a ground up LEED GOLD construction with sustainable design features including passive sun shading, an abundance of natural light throughout the building via storefronts and skylights, the use of responsibly sourced green building materials, high-efficiency fixtures and drought tolerant landscaping.

Planning Process
As this project took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, there were some key challenges that required strategic planning and oversight. These included supply chain impacts and manpower shortages. In addition, the team also had to manage flooding that took place as a result of inclement weather. However, despite these challenges, Align was able to creatively execute the project and maintain a healthy working space between trades—all on schedule and within budget.

I continue to hear and see nothing but great things with the work the Align team is doing at MiraCosta CLC, and we really appreciate the partnering approach they take. We would love to work with them on another project.

Our project team spent time pre-investigating, planning, clash-detecting, coordinating, and ultimately, installing a massive amount (relative to the size of the space) of overhead and in-wall MEP systems and supporting structural infrastructure.
